Endless Night - Big Tease

PROLOGUE

Never did I think I would ever willingly get on a plane and travel across the country in order to spend three nights surrounded by vampires. How things change.
After gruesomely staking and beheading two would be vampires, my outlook on life has changed dramatically. I’ve developed a crunchy exterior. Recently, I have been told it hasn’t been a good change.
Out of respect for the lives lost I decided I would not write the book I had set out to write a few months ago. Instead, I have chosen to compose a fiction novel based on the individuals I’ve met on this strange odyssey of mine; Sanguinarians, or lifestyle vampires as I have learned they prefer to be called. Tatum and I are going to attend the Endless Night Ball in New Orleans for research. Her new fulltime boyfriend scored us free tickets. I couldn’t turn down the offer.
Tatum and I had made up. Truth of the matter is, I gave in and stopped being mad. She and Malcolm have become an exclusive item. She seems happy. Tatum is coming with me to make sure I don’t get myself killed, which means Malcolm has to come too. And no doubt he’ll bring his puppy, Cyrus, with him. I haven’t spent much time with Cyrus since I accidentally shot him trying to kill a boy who thought he was a vampire. Cyrus healed from his gunshot wound fairly quickly. I sent balloons to the hospital.
Mike and I are on speaking terms at the moment. Mike has his hands full with Reggie and her missing head; leaving little time to harass me. I have decided to bow out from chasing leads and killing vampires. From what I hear another staked and headless body turned up in Vegas about a month ago. Mike is scared there is another serial killer on the loose. I’m trying not to care. I have other things to do.
The Endless Night Ball is a three day event featuring loads of fun for vampires everywhere. I was planning on using it as a chance to explore further into The Scene. I was a tad apprehensive at first. But who can blame me after my last go around with vampires. Well, as long as no one ends up dead and drained of blood I’ll be fine.
Oh, shit, who am I kidding? The likelihood of a corpse popping up at a function revolving around vampires is pretty high. I am taking my chances. But who knows. It might make for a killer book.

Your opinion matters to me. No, really, it does. I swear.
